Lifeline service

Is living independently in the comfort of your own home a priority for you? Or maybe you want reassurance for yourself and your loved ones that someone is on hand if the worst ever happens. Our Lifeline service offers security and reassurance around the clock, allowing you to enjoy life with confidence and ease.

Our Lifeline service is a 24/7 personal alarm system designed to help you live a more independent life in the comfort of your own home. The Lifeline service can provide great peace of mind for both you and your loved ones knowing help and support is available at the touch of a button.

Our personal alarm system gives:

  • Reassurance that support is always available
  • Help and support in an emergency 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Peace of mind to you and your family
  • Continued independence in your own home

Once your unit is installed, you will pay a £5 (plus VAT where applicable) per week service charge to use our Lifeline service.

What's included?

Lifeline Customers will receive the following pieces of equipment as part of the standard service:

  • A small pendant that can be worn around the neck or the wrist.
  • An alarm unit that will be fitted in your home.

Once your unit is installed, you will pay a £5 (plus VAT where applicable) per week service charge to use our Lifeline service.

For this reasonable fee you can rest easy, knowing specialist support is always on hand. We work closely with local authorities to offer sensors and fall detectors (see the chart below for further details and optional services), which means you can have complete peace of mind knowing help is only a button away.

Places for People will supply the equipment and Appello will provide the response service.

Who can use the Lifeline service?

The Lifeline service is ideal for individuals with medical conditions who live alone. Whether you have heart problems, high blood pressure, or mobility-impairing disabilities, Lifeline provides crucial support, especially for those more prone to accidents or falls at home.

How does it work?

If you ever feel unwell, have a fall, or need emergency assistance, just press the Lifeline button. A friendly, trained Lifeline operator will immediately respond through the loudspeaker in your home. They’ll assess the situation and ensure you get the help you need – even if that means calling emergency services.
