Happy customers love their new homes

We love hearing what our customers love about our homes and communities and love sharing their stories.

Putting Scotland into the spotlight – we hear from customers who are loving their new homes at Chapelton, Longniddry and The Engine Yard.

A place you fall in love with

Chapelton is much more than a housing development – it’s a long- term vision to create a sustainable community. With open green spaces, local shops and a close-knit neighbourhood – it is the perfect place to call home.

Norman and Muriel had lived in Bridge of Don for over 30 years but decided they wanted to downsize once they retired.

The couple started spending time in Chapelton and fell in love with the place.

“We went for a walk one day in 2021 and stopped at the The Brae in Hulm Square for a coffee. We loved how peaceful the village felt and enjoyed walks through the many lanes. We returned several times after that, enjoying meals at the Brio restaurant and attended the 2022 Scarecrow festival and felt it was such a welcoming community.

When a 3- bedroom detached bungalow went up for sale we decided this was our chance to move to a home in a place we had grown to love.

Toni and Dillon from the sales team were brilliant throughout the whole process as were the construction team who were very supportive and helpful in getting us settled in.

We are delighted with our new home and with the imminent arrival of our new puppy, look forward to our future in Chapelton.”

Supportive team

More than just a housing development, Longniddry Village aims to be an integral part of the local community, helping to make the town even more sustainable and attractive to future generations.

Two of our recent customers Peter and Jean have shared how our supportive team made their house move so much easier.

“Moving house at our age is quite a big upheaval, especially as our physical health isn’t what it once was. However, Fraser Stangoe and his team have helped to make sure our move went as smoothly and stress free as possible. For example, he kept the road at the front of our new house as mud free as he could so access to and from the house is easier.

We both really appreciated his efficiency and kindness and describe him as our knight in shining armour.
We’re now happily settled in our new home and love our garden which is starting to look brilliant. We want to thank Fraser and his team for all of their support, we don’t know what we would have done without them.”

A great location

The Engine Yard was once the city’s historic tram depot but is now part of an exciting regeneration project. A selection of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, duplexes and penthouses it is now one of Edinburgh’s most exciting places to live.

These are just some of the reasons that attracted new customer Jay.

“I had lived in an older building in Edinburgh for a while and was looking for a more modern apartment. The Engine Yard appealed to me as it offered a quiet, modern, and pedestrianised area a few steps away from the lively Leith Walk.  With great transport links, I can access the whole of Edinburgh easily from my doorstep.

The Places for People and The Engine Yard Sales Team members were helpful, enthusiastic and friendly. The communication I received was professional but personable and they managed to accommodate for a very quick turnaround to get us into our new home, with great flexibility.”
